  Great Course! Nancy, and Lonnie have put a lot of work into straining out the issues they inherited. The Course plays great (Especially if you like dogleg lefts...) I crushed a several on Sunday (280 for an old guy ain't too bad), and made several nice approaches, but need to work on my putting...

  This is a great layout. The are plenty of elevation changes and great mounding on the sides of the fairways keep your slightly wayward shots in play. There are quite a few holes with forced carries, that are typical of this style course.
  A few things on the negative. Most are original design issues. It looks like there was not enough topsoil laid over the clay and in some areas there were bare spots in the rough and even the fairway. The sand traps also appear to have used local sand, instead of imported ones. This is often a cost saving item in the construction, and as a result there is very little sand in the sand traps. General maintenance was a little lacking, but I did play in December.
  
  Lots of great shots are to be had at this course. It was a lot of fun. I really liked holes 2-5 and 10-13. What I really liked about this course was that it was very playable even for the higher-handicap player. Large mature hardwoods make some holes feel as if you were in a cathedral of hardwoods.
  
  Good staff, very friendly and encouraging me to return.
